
Launches Healthcare Initiatives and Investment Summit in Madhya Pradesh
Bhopal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to lowering medical expenses for all Indians, particularly for economically weaker sections, during his visit to Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.
“Our government is dedicated to reducing treatment costs, which were exorbitant before 2014. We will ensure significant reductions in medical expenses through initiatives like Ayushman cards, covering up to ₹5 lakh in treatment costs for eligible citizens,” PM Modi stated after laying the foundation stone of the Bageshwar Dham Medical and Science Research Institute in Chhatarpur district.
Focus on Affordable Healthcare and Religious Institutions’ Role
PM Modi highlighted the contributions of religious organizations in healthcare, citing Chitrakoot as an example where spiritual and medical services coexist. He assured that visitors to Bageshwar Dham would receive not only spiritual blessings but also health benefits.
He urged citizens above 70 years of age to avail themselves of free treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme and encouraged vigilance against corruption, urging people to report any demands for bribes when obtaining Ayushman cards.
New Cancer Hospital and Investment Summit
The Prime Minister also announced a ₹200 crore cancer hospital, which will offer free treatment to underprivileged patients, equipped with advanced medical technology and specialist doctors.
During his two-day visit, PM Modi will attend a BJP leaders’ meeting in Bhopal and become the first Prime Minister to stay overnight at the Raj Bhavan in Madhya Pradesh.
On Monday, he will inaugurate the Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2025 in Bhopal. The summit aims to position Madhya Pradesh as a global investment hub, featuring specialized sessions on pharma, medical devices, transport, logistics, industry, and tourism.

- Auto Show, Textile & Fashion Expo, and One District-One Product (ODOP) Village
- Participation from over 60 countries and 300 industry leaders
CM Mohan Yadav emphasized the summit’s role in attracting investment and shaping the progressive development of Madhya Pradesh.
