Patna: A shocking case of medical negligence has emerged from Patna, where a 24-year-old youth, Deepak Paswan, allegedly died after being treated based on a YouTube video at a private clinic. The incident took place in the Rajendra Nagar Road No. 3 area under Kadamkuan police station on Saturday evening.
Family Alleges Gross Negligence
Paswan, who was set to join the CISF, was admitted to the clinic after experiencing severe vomiting. According to his brother Nandu Paswan, the doctors assured the family that Deepak would recover within 24 hours. However, he later succumbed during treatment.
Upon hearing the tragic news, Paswan’s family vandalized the clinic, alleging that he was treated using instructions from a YouTube video instead of proper medical procedures.
“If there were qualified doctors in the hospital and proper treatment was provided, my brother would have survived,” said Nandu Paswan.
Police Intervention & Investigation
Upon receiving information, Kadamkuan police station personnel reached the clinic and took custody of the body. It was sent to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for a postmortem examination.
Sadar SDPO Diksha confirmed that a report is being prepared and necessary action will be taken accordingly.
“At around 4 am, we received information that Paswan had died during treatment. His family also vandalized the clinic in protest. A police team was sent to control the situation, and the body was sent for postmortem,” she said.
Paswan’s family has filed a formal complaint at the Kadamkuan police station, demanding strict action against those responsible. Meanwhile, the clinic’s staff remains unavailable for comment.
This incident has raised serious concerns about unqualified medical practices and the misuse of online medical content, prompting calls for stricter regulations on private clinics.
