Raipur: A video of a patient clamming that he was slapped by a doctor in the plastic surgery department of All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), Raipur circulated in social media has gone viral. After the allegation the AIIMS administration has launched a detail inquiry into the incident while the spokesperson of AIIMS has termed the allegations as “absolutely false”.
The patient narrated the incident that he underwent surgery on the right side of chest. After gaining consciousness he felt severe pain in the left side of the head. The patient’s wife noticed the swelling on the left side of head and enquired with the doctor on duty the reason for swelling. The doctor on duty directed her to the doctor who had performed the operation. When the patient’s wife enquired the reason for swelling on the head, the patient alleges that the doctor became angry and asked whether they are claiming that he had hit him during surgery. Also the doctor allegedly slapped the patient twice and pushed the patient’s wife.
Meanwhile the spokesperson of AIIMS, Raipur refuted the allegation of the patient and said that the patient was repeatedly trying to get up from the bed despite the staff preventing him from doing so. The spokesperson further said that the patient and his attendant used foul language and threatened the doctor. The AIIMS administration is examining the CCTV footage of the incident to ascertain the facts of the incident.
