CM says govt hospitals can deliver exceptional care, hails team as role models
HYDERABAD: In a heartening example of medical excellence in public healthcare, doctors at Osmania General Hospital (OGH) successfully performed a complex surgery that saved the life of a 22-year-old man from Visakhapatnam, earning accolades from Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
The patient, identified as Hemanth, was initially taken to a private hospital after experiencing severe breathing difficulties en route to Shirdi. However, the hospital refused to admit him, citing the complicated nature of his condition. His family then rushed him to OGH, where a team of doctors took up the challenge.
In a post on social media platform X, CM Revanth Reddy commended the doctors for their determination and skill. “The belief that government hospitals cannot deliver exceptional care has been shattered. The team at OGH has proved that with dedication, the impossible becomes possible,” he wrote.
The Chief Minister personally congratulated Dr Ranga Ajmeera, Dr Vikram, and their team, calling them an inspiration for government healthcare professionals across the state. “They are role models for every doctor and staff member working in public hospitals,” he added.
After the successful surgery, Hemanth was kept under observation for ten days and was discharged on April 17 following a steady recovery.
The incident has drawn praise from various quarters and is being seen as a turning point in public perception regarding the quality of care at government hospitals in Telangana.
