The surgery was conducted at a city hospital, where the patient, who had traveled from Gurugram, underwent an arthroscopic procedure to repair her torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL). Weighing approximately 135 kg, she was also diagnosed with a meniscus tear, a condition affecting the knee’s shock-absorbing cartilage.
Dr. Patnaik utilized BioBrace, a bio-absorbable collagen implant, to reinforce the damaged ligament. This advanced technology aids tissue healing by providing mechanical strength while stimulating natural regeneration.
