
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the Maharaja Jajati Keshari Medical College & Hospital in Jajpur district on Saturday. The state government has set up the medical college and hospital with an expenditure of ₹491.25 crore.
Key Highlights of the Inauguration
- The new medical college has received approval for 50 MBBS seats for the 2024-25 academic year from the National Medical Commission (NMC).
- The Chief Minister assured that the state government will take steps to double the MBBS seats in the next academic year.
- Several infrastructure projects worth ₹16 crore were also inaugurated on the hospital premises.

- Foundation stone laid for a new Nursing College in Jajpur, with a budget allocation of ₹12 crore.
- Inauguration of a town hall and the renovation of Vyasa Sarovar (pond) in Jajpur town.

- ₹22.43 crore earmarked for the development of Biraja Agneswar Haat.
- ₹30 crore approved for a new bus terminal in Jajpur.
