NMC task force recommends “Yoga” for medical students for mental fitness

New Delhi: NMC task force has recommended integrating “Yoga” in medical student’s lives for the mental fitness of students. To promote yoga, the task force has suggested that regular yoga classes and seminars may be included in the curriculum of the medical students. The inclusion of yoga will reduce stress, prevent mental illness and develop resilence in the medical students. The need for sports activity in the medical students has also been stressed by the task force and dedicated time be allotted to the students for physical activities.

The task force also brought to the fore the social isolation of the medical students and suggested setting up of Samajika Sanskrita Campus Council to reduce isolation and well being by supporting diverse social group and activities in medical colleges.
