New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a notification inviting medical colleges and institutions to submit proposals for the inclusion of new postgraduate (PG) medical qualifications under the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations-2023.

- Eligible Applicants: All medical colleges and institutes offering postgraduate medical education can apply for the inclusion of new qualifications that are not currently listed in Annexures I to VI of the PG Medical Education Regulations-2023.
- Submission Mode: Proposals must be submitted both through email at pgmeb.recognition@mc.org.in and by post to the NMC.
- Mandatory Approval: Institutions must not run any PG medical qualification, including PDCC and PDF programs, without prior approval from the NMC. Non-compliance will result in action under Sections 9.1 and 9.2 of the PG Medical Education Regulations-2023 and Sections 8(1) and 8(2) of the Maintenance of Standards of Medical Education Regulations-2023.
Requirements for Submission
- Standard Assessment Forms:
- Part A: Institutional information common for all PG specialties.
- Part B: Information specific to the parent specialty.
- Fee: Rs. 2,50,000 plus 18% GST per qualification.
- Supporting Documents: Detailed institutional and qualification-related information as specified in the official guidelines.
Regulation Provisions
Under the regulations, medical institutions offering undergraduate, postgraduate, or super-specialty qualifications must apply for approval of any new qualification not already included in the NMC’s list.
