New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has extended the deadline for submitting applications for Eligibility Certificates to November 25, 2024, at 6 PM. This extension comes after several candidates reported technical difficulties while trying to meet the previous deadline of November 4, 2024.
Importance of the Eligibility Certificate
- Mandatory for FMGE: Candidates planning to appear for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) on January 12, 2025, must hold a valid Eligibility Certificate issued by the NMC to qualify for the screening test.
- This certificate ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and is a key step for foreign-trained medical graduates aspiring to practice in India.
Application Process
- Where to Apply: Candidates must submit their applications via the official NMC portal: www.nmc.org.in.
- Advisory for Applicants:
- The NMC has assured thorough verification of applications but advised applicants to be patient, as the process might take time.
- Regular updates will be provided through registered email IDs and the online portal.
- Candidates are requested to avoid unnecessary visits to the NMC office.
Objective of Extension
The Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) highlighted that the extension addresses technical challenges and provides candidates with another opportunity to fulfill the requirements, supporting their career prospects.
This decision aims to streamline the application process and ensure all eligible candidates can complete their applications for the FMGE.
