History-Sheeter in Jail, Female Associate Absconding After FIR
A 30-year-old assistant doctor working at a private hospital in Nashik has allegedly fallen victim to an extortion racket involving a history-sheeter and his female associate. A case has been registered at the Mhasrul Police Station following the doctor’s complaint.
According to police officials, the main accused is currently lodged in jail in connection with another criminal matter. However, after fresh extortion charges surfaced, his alleged accomplice reportedly fled and is presently absconding.
As reported by The Times of India, the complainant, a resident of Makhmalabad, stated that the female accused lived in a building opposite her residence. Since the history-sheeter frequently moved in and out of jail due to multiple criminal cases, the woman allegedly approached the assistant doctor seeking financial help to secure his release.
Over time, the doctor is said to have handed over cash and valuables amounting to more than ₹4.9 lakh. The complainant claimed she even parted with gold jewellery and availed of a bank loan to provide financial assistance to the accused and his associate.
However, when the doctor sought repayment of the money, the situation allegedly escalated. Police said that the history-sheeter and the woman began threatening her with dire consequences, including threats to kill her or break her limbs.
The accused allegedly boasted about having several murder and attempted murder cases against him, using his criminal background to intimidate the complainant. Police records indicate that he has at least seven prior cases, including offences related to murder, attempted murder, bodily harm, and property crimes.
Authorities have stated that steps will be taken to formally arrest the male accused in connection with the new extortion case, while efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the absconding female associate.
The incident once again raises concerns about the safety and vulnerability of doctors in clinical practice, echoing recent cases across the country where medical professionals have faced threats and intimidation.
