In a landmark move to reshape the country’s healthcare sector, Nita Ambani, Founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, has announced the establishment of a 2,000-bed state-of-the-art medical city in Mumbai.

Unveiled at the 48th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries, Ambani described the facility as more than just a hospital, calling it a hub of innovation where advanced medical technology and artificial intelligence will integrate with the expertise of leading global doctors to deliver world-class treatment at affordable costs.

“This will not be just another hospital but India’s new beacon of healthcare innovation, where AI-powered diagnostics, cutting-edge medical technology, and leading doctors from across the globe will come together to deliver care that matches the best standards in the world,” she said.

The medical city will also include a transformative medical college aimed at training the next generation of doctors to serve both India and the world. According to Ambani, the vision is to expand capacity while making healthcare both world-class and affordable for every Indian.

The initiative builds on the success of the Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, one of Mumbai’s top multi-speciality hospitals, which recently completed ten years of service. To mark the milestone, Ambani also launched “Jeevan,” an advanced extension of the hospital and the name chosen for the upcoming medical city.

The Jeevan wing will focus on pediatric cancer care, offering chemotherapy and immunotherapy in an environment designed to provide children with both cutting-edge treatment and compassionate care. “This wing will be designed to heal our little ones with world-class care and a mother’s warmth,” Ambani added.

The project is expected to transform India’s healthcare landscape, combining scale, technology, and compassion to set new standards in medical care.
