Aizawl :
The State Referral Hospital at Falkawn village, also functioning as Aizawl West District Hospital and Zoram Medical College & Hospital, has earned the prestigious National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification, scoring an impressive 92.89%, according to the state health and family welfare department.
In addition:
- The Maternity Department received the Platinum Certificate under the LaQshya programme, which aims to improve quality of care in labour rooms and maternity OTs.
- The Maternity Operation Theatre scored 98.26%, while the Labour Room and Paediatric Department scored 92.88% and 92.80%, respectively.
- The Paediatric Department also received the MusQan certificate, which recognizes quality care in child healthcare services.
Furthermore, several Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in Mizoram were also recognized under the NQAS:
- Bilkhawthlir PHC – 94.94%
- Chhipphir PHC – 92.48%
- Phuldungsei PHC – 91.27%
- West Phaileng PHC – 89.47%
Health Minister Lalrinpuii hailed the recognition as a significant milestone, saying it reflects the improving standards of public healthcare in Mizoram and brings good news for patients relying on government facilities.
