
Surprise Inspection Reveals Unapproved Absences
Hyderabad: Several doctors, including professors and associate professors, were found absent at Gandhi Hospital on Tuesday during a surprise inspection by Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha.
Strict Action Against Absent Medical Staff
The minister instructed senior officials to take strict action against the doctors who were absent without approval. He directed the hospital’s superintendent and the Director of Medical Education (DME) to issue showcause notices, demanding explanations from the absentees.
Emphasis on Accountability
Addressing the media, Rajanarsimha stressed the importance of discipline among medical professionals. “Doctors, professors, and RMOs will not be excused for absenteeism during duty hours. Appropriate action will be taken,” he asserted.
Review of Hospital Services and IVF Delays
During his visit, the minister interacted with patients, reviewed medical services, and inspected various hospital departments. He also expressed dissatisfaction with delays in IVF services and urged authorities to resolve the issue promptly. A comprehensive review of medical services at Gandhi Hospital is set to take place soon to enhance patient care and hospital efficiency.
