Court Orders Psychiatric Care for 24-Year-Old Following Incident

Kilpauk : A 24-year-old man, identified as Bharat, was admitted to the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) in Kilpauk after allegedly attacking Dr. P. Hariharan at Government Stanley Medical College Hospital on November 13. Bharat, who had been receiving psychiatric care from Dr. Hariharan, reportedly became agitated during a consultation, resulting in a physical altercation.

Incident Details and Court Intervention

During an outpatient visit, Bharat engaged in an argument and subsequently struck Dr. Hariharan before leaving the hospital. Following his detention, Bharat was presented to the Saidapet court, which ordered his admission to IMH for psychiatric treatment.
