The association highlighted a severe incident that occurred on December 27, 2024, when a hand grenade was planted at the residence of Dr. GS Moirangthem, the Director-CEO of KARKINOS Manipur Cancer Institute & Research Centre in Imphal. This act of violence is seen as a serious form of intimidation, targeting both Dr. Moirangthem and the medical community at large.
AHPI’s Urgent Appeal
The AHPI, in its press release, strongly condemned the rising violence against healthcare professionals and their institutions, calling for an immediate cessation of such acts.
