
Lucknow: The city’s healthcare infrastructure is set for a major boost as King George’s Medical University (KGMU), RMLIMS, and Lokbandhu Hospital plan to add 230 ventilator beds, enhancing critical care services for patients in need of intensive care.
Breakdown of Expansion
🏥 KGMU:
- Plans to establish a 100-bed ICU-ventilator ward
- Current capacity: 350 ICU ventilator beds
- Aim: To enhance intensive care services
🏥 RMLIMS (Maternal & Child Referral Hospital):
- Adding 100 new ICU-ventilator beds
- Current capacity: 80 ICU ventilator beds
- Focus: Maternal and neonatal critical care
🏥 Lokbandhu Hospital:
- Only 10 out of 40 ventilators operational
- Agreement signed with a private healthcare facility to increase ventilator availability
- Medical Superintendent Dr. Ajay Shankar Tripathi confirmed efforts to improve emergency care
