Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Paramedical Association (KPPA) has announced plans to stage a sit-in protest in Peshawar on November 25, demanding post-upgradation, salary increases, and pension raises for healthcare workers. The association’s district president, Khalid Khan, expressed frustration with the government’s failure to address their demands despite months of effort. He warned that if the government does not meet their demands, they will initiate indefinite street protests.
Paramedical staff from the Hazara division and Mansehra are expected to participate in large numbers, with the KPPA calling for equal pay following the post-upgradation of paramedics, along with salary and pension increases. The protest is anticipated to draw significant attention, highlighting the growing dissatisfaction among paramedics over what they see as inadequate compensation and poor working conditions.
This planned protest is part of a broader wave of unrest among public sector workers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as both healthcare and education employees push for better recognition and improved compensation. Recently, thousands of teachers in the region staged a similar protest over post-upgradation demands, signaling a trend of escalating discontent within the public sector.
