
New Hospitals Planned in Ramdurga and Kittur
The Karnataka government will allocate ₹46 crore for constructing a multi-speciality hospital in Saundatti, Belagavi district, Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao announced on March 23. He also stated that well-equipped hospitals would be built in Ramdurga and Kittur taluks.
Healthcare Infrastructure Expansion
A mother and child hospital and a new district hospital have already been inaugurated in Khanapur taluk, while a district hospital-level facility is planned for Gokak. Under the Home Health Scheme, a special programme will soon be launched to provide medicines to every family.
Historic Health Camp and Development Initiatives
Public Works and District In-Charge Minister Satish Jarkiholi called the health camp a historic event and credited MLA Vishwas Vaidya for his efforts. He announced a ₹200 crore special grant for the development of Saundatti Yallamma temple and the region.
Call for Healthcare Upgrades
MLA Vishwas Vaidya revealed that over 8,000 patients were screened at the camp and urged the government to upgrade health facilities in Munavalli town, which serves 25 villages. He also highlighted that 172 village panchayats in the district were declared TB-free, with representatives of 11 villages from Saundatti taluk being felicitated.
