In Tamil Nadu quacks attack MBBS doctor for complaining against their clinics

Chennai : Dr. S Vignesh an MBBS doctor running a private clinic at Kalavi town was attacked by quacks and illegal allopathic clinic owners when they learnt that Vignesh has complained against them at the Chief Ministers special cell against quacks. After the video of attack went viral police lodged complaint against the assailants but none of the assailants have been arrested.

Vignesh who runs the private clinic learnt that several illegal clinics of quacks were mushrooming in the locality where he had his clinic, he started gathering photos and videos of these illegal clinics. He lodged a complaint with the Chief Ministers special cell against quacks along with the evidence collected by him. The doctor in his complaint has said that the quacks treating the patient were unqualified and were playing with the life of the patients. He added that pharmacists, homeopaths and even sweepers were running these private clinics and collecting 100-150 fees from the patient. He further added that these quacks not only offer medicine but administer injections and do sutures.

Vignesh contact details were leaked by the government side which led to the quacks arriving at Vignesh clinic and threatening him. Subsequently two quacks , Rafeeq and Ajees,  were seen attacking Vignesh in the viral video. Tamil Nadu Medical Students Association (TNMSA) has condemned the attack on the MBBS doctor and urged the health department to take action against the quakes in the region.

Editors ViewThe leakage of the identity of Dr. Vignesh to the quacks is a serious issue and the IMA, Tamil Nadu Chapter should take it up with the Health Minister of Tamil Nadu. Nobody will dare to complain against the illegal quacks clinics if their identity are compromised. The Tamil Nadu government should take strict action against the culprit who leaked the identity of Dr. Vignesh to the quacks.
