Thrissur : In Chavakkad taluk hospital in Kerala, gynecologist Dr. Pradeep Varghese Koshy and anesthetist Dr. Veena Varghese were caught by the vigilance while accepting bribes for surgery from the patient husband. Dr. Pradeep Varghese Koshy received Rs 3,000 and anesthetist Dr. Veena Varghese received Rs 2,000 for the removal of a uterine tumor. The said doctors demanded bribe from her husband. After the complainant informed the Thrissur Vigilance Dy SP Jim Paul, a trap was laid and Dr. Varghese Koshy and Dr. Veena Varghese were caught red handed while receiving the bribe amount in their private practice in front of the hospital.
Dr. Pradeep Varghese Koshy took bribe even when the complainant’s wife was subjected to female sterilization two months ago. The police also raided the doctor’s house in Kunnamkulam.
