Anugrah Kukreja’s Journey to MBBS at VMMC
New Delhi : Born and raised in Delhi, Anugrah Kukreja moved to Bharatpur, Rajasthan, to prepare for NEET UG—a decision that led to his impressive score of 701/720. Now an MBBS student at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC) & Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi, Anugrah dreams of finding cures for diabetes and cancer.
“My motivation came from my dream to cure diseases and the encouragement I received from my doctor family members,” said the 18-year-old.
Flexible Study Plan Over Strict Timetable
Unlike many aspirants who stick to rigid study schedules, Anugrah adopted a task-based approach.
- Attended Allen Online lectures from 8 AM to 12 PM, followed by a 30-minute break.
- Spent afternoons revising topics covered in class and completing homework.
- Used music as a background while solving questions.
- Dedicated weekends to clearing backlogs and preparing for coaching exams.
Despite access to coaching notes, Anugrah relied on self-made notes and regular revisions, believing that “the more you revise, the less time you need.”
NEET UG Exam Attempt Strategy
During the NEET UG exam, Anugrah followed a structured multi-round approach:
- First round: Skimmed through the entire paper, solving easy questions first while skipping difficult ones.
- Second round: Focused on tougher questions, carefully revising each section.
- OMR strategy: Bubbled answers simultaneously to avoid last-minute errors.
This technique helped him secure AIR 1028.
Life as an MBBS Student at VMMC
Describing college life as “vibrant and full of opportunities,” Anugrah shared his excitement about VMMC’s annual festival, which took place just three days after his session began. Celebrities like Harsh Gujral, Ajay Hooda, and Aastha Gill performed at the event.
VMMC offers various societies for quizzing, sports, music, dance, and drama. Anugrah actively participates in table tennis and football. His daily schedule runs from 9 AM to 4 PM, with a lunch break from 1 PM to 2 PM.
“The best part of VMMC is the amazing faculty, supportive seniors, and surprisingly good hostel mess food!” he added.
