
Doctor Accused of Radicalising Medical Students
Hapur: Delhi Police Special Cell has detained an Assistant Professor from the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department of GS Medical College, Pilkhuwa, for suspected links to a terror module. The doctor, originally from Jammu & Kashmir and currently posted in Hapur, is accused of influencing and brainwashing medical students to join the module.
Position Used as a Cover, Say Investigators
According to the police, the accused allegedly used his medical position as a cover to operate discreetly. Early investigations have indicated possible links to the recent Delhi blast case, including suspected involvement in supplying explosives and building operational networks.
Interrogation May Reveal More Operatives
Officials believe that key revelations are expected during interrogation. The agency is also working to identify other accomplices who may be connected to the module.
Five Doctors With UP Links Now Detained
With this arrest, the number of medical professionals detained in connection with the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)-inspired ‘White Collar Terror Module’ has risen to five. All have links to Uttar Pradesh and were allegedly part of a covert network comprising qualified doctors.
Employment Details of the Accused
According to Dainik Jagran, the doctor joined GS Medical College as a Senior Resident on April 6, 2024, and was later promoted to Assistant Professor. Prior to this, he worked at Al Falah University in Faridabad from October 6, 2022, to April 5, 2024.
Another Cardiologist Detained in Red Fort Blast Probe
Meanwhile, Medical Dialogues reported that the Uttar Pradesh ATS has detained a cardiologist from GSVM Medical College, Kanpur, in connection with the Delhi Red Fort blast case. The 32-year-old postgraduate medico was picked up from an undisclosed location. ATS officials searched his rented accommodation in Ashok Nagar, seized electronic devices for forensic analysis, and took him to Delhi for questioning.
