
Coimbatore: Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore, and Johnson & Johnson Medtech have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a global training centre for orthopaedic surgeons across the Asia Pacific region.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Rajasekaran, Chairman, Department of Orthopaedics, Ganga Hospital; Kanakavalli Shanmuganathan, Managing Director of Ganga Hospital; Yoo Jin Chey, Vice President, Asia Pacific, Johnson & Johnson Medtech; Dr. Ambuj Chaturvedi, Director, Professional Education, Johnson & Johnson Medtech, India; along with senior doctors of the hospital.
Under this partnership, Ganga Hospital will serve as a global training hub, collaborating closely with Johnson & Johnson Medtech to provide specialised education to healthcare professionals. The initiative is designed to:

- Promote best practices in patient care and surgical procedures.
- Drive innovation through research collaborations with educational and healthcare institutions.
- Offer access to the latest in cutting-edge medical technologies and products for hands-on training.
Training at the centre will span from basic surgical skills to highly advanced robotic joint replacement procedures. Surgeons from countries across the Asia Pacific region — including Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand — will participate in intensive, immersive training programs. These programs will be led by Ganga Hospital’s experienced surgical experts, focusing on vital procedures and the safe, effective use of advanced medical technologies.
