Chennai : The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Medical College and Hospital, Chennai, has announced recruitment for 61 Senior Resident posts across various departments. The hiring will be conducted through walk-in interviews scheduled on October 7 and 8, 2025 at the hospital campus in K.K. Nagar.
The vacancies span multiple specialties, including Anaesthesiology, General Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Radiology, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Emergency Medicine, and more.
According to the notification, candidates must ensure they meet the prescribed eligibility criteria as per National Medical Commission guidelines. Applicants can also appear for interviews in Emergency Medicine and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, in addition to their own specialty, if they fulfill the conditions set during the transition period.
The hospital has specified that document verification will take place between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM on both days. Only candidates who successfully complete verification will be allowed to participate in the interviews. Those arriving late will not be considered.
Reservation rules will be applicable as per Government of India norms, with 15 posts in Senior Resident (three-year tenure) horizontally reserved for PwD candidates. The Dean of ESIC Medical College retains the authority to increase, reduce, or cancel vacancies without prior notice.
If the number of applicants exceeds the ratio of 1:10 per post, the hospital may conduct a screening test based on multiple-choice questions in the relevant discipline. However, the final selection will be based solely on interview performance.
Candidates must carry all original certificates along with self-attested copies, including ID proof, academic qualifications, medical registration, internship completion, caste certificates (if applicable), and a non-refundable demand draft of ₹500 drawn in favour of ESI Fund A.C No.1, payable at Chennai.
