New Leadership Announced for 2025-26
New Delhi: Dr. Girish Tyagi, former Registrar of the Delhi Medical Council (DMC), has officially assumed the role of President of the Delhi Medical Association (DMA). The DMA announced the new leadership team in a press release today.

Alongside Dr. Tyagi, the newly appointed office bearers include:
- Dr. Satish Lamba – Honorary State Secretary
- Dr. AS Popli – Finance Secretary
- Dr. Neelam Lekhi – President-elect
- Dr. Abhishek Kumar & Dr. Rita Bakshi – Honorary Joint Secretaries

Dr. Girish Tyagi’s Vision for DMA
A graduate of the University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS), Dr. Tyagi has previously served as DMA Secretary twice and was Registrar of DMC for several years. He succeeds Dr. Alok Bhandari, the immediate past president.
The press release highlighted his commitment to medical education, service, and medico-social causes. Under his leadership, DMA played a crucial role during the COVID-19 pandemic, working closely with healthcare professionals across private, corporate, and government hospitals.
The DMA aims to collaborate with the government to address key healthcare challenges in Delhi NCR, focusing on improving medical services, supporting doctors, and enhancing patient care.
