Hassan, Karnataka: A violent altercation broke out late Monday night at Hassan Medical College and Hospital, where a group of intoxicated individuals assaulted postgraduate (PG) and resident doctors on duty, causing panic among hospital staff and patients.

Unprovoked Attack Creates Chaos

According to hospital sources, the drunken assailants entered the premises and attacked medical staff without provocation. The sudden violence led to chaos, prompting PG students, MBBS students, and other hospital employees to gather in protest outside the casualty ward, demanding strict action against the attackers.

Doctors Protest, Demand Stronger Security Measures

In response to the assault, doctors and medical students staged a protest in front of the casualty department, condemning the incident and calling for improved security to prevent future attacks. The demonstration saw participation from PG students, MBBS students, and hospital employees, all united in seeking better protection for healthcare workers.

Authorities Take Action

Following the incident, an FIR has been registered, and authorities have launched an investigation. Hospital staff have urged law enforcement to take swift action against the perpetrators and ensure the safety of medical professionals working under difficult conditions.
