Patients Left Struggling as Medical Staff Fail to Report on Time

Singrauli: Health services at the Singrauli District Hospital are in a dire state due to the alleged absence and negligence of doctors and medical staff. Despite the official duty timing of 9 AM, sources claim that doctors arrive as late as 11 AM and, after a quick round of patient visits, often leave for their private clinics, leaving patients stranded.

Lack of Monitoring & Negligence by Authorities

With no proper system to track attendance, many doctors reportedly skip duty or leave early, causing immense inconvenience to patients, especially those traveling from remote areas. Frustrated patients, after waiting for hours, are either sent back home without treatment or directed to private clinics run by the same doctors.

Despite multiple complaints, hospital authorities have turned a blind eye to the issue. When questioned about the matter, Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) NK Jain stated that monitoring doctor attendance is beyond his jurisdiction, and the responsibility lies with the civil surgeon. He further suggested that complaints should be directed to the district collector.

Patients Demand Action

The lack of accountability in the district hospital has raised serious concerns among residents. With no proper attendance tracking and weak administrative action, healthcare services remain in shambles, leaving patients helpless. Locals are urging the district administration to take immediate action to improve hospital conditions and ensure doctors fulfill their duties responsibly.
