New Delhi: A Delhi-based doctor was found murdered in his home on Thursday, allegedly killed by a 23-year-old dietician following a dispute over inappropriate behavior. The incident occurred in Chattarpur Enclave, South Delhi.
The victim, Dr. Sambit Mohanty, was discovered with a deep neck wound and signs of a violent struggle at the scene. According to police, the accused, identified as Sunny Kumar, had visited the doctor’s residence to deliver a diet subscription.
During their interaction, Mohanty allegedly touched Kumar inappropriately, sparking an altercation. In a fit of rage, Kumar reportedly strangled the doctor before attacking him with a knife and scissors from the kitchen.
DCP South Ankit Chauhan stated that a PCR call alerted police to the crime. “The victim was found with severe injuries, and blood was scattered across the floor, indicating a violent confrontation,” he said.
Kumar has been detained, and further investigations are underway. Police are probing the exact sequence of events leading to the murder. Charges are expected to be filed following a detailed inquiry.
