
Warangal: A doctor was brutally attacked by unidentified assailants on Bhattupalli Main Road in Warangal on Thursday night, leaving him critically injured.
According to police and eyewitnesses, Dr. Gade Sumanth Reddy, who works at a private clinic in Kazipet, was driving towards Ursu around 9 PM when two unidentified men on a two-wheeler intercepted his car at Ammavari Peta Crossroad. One of the attackers struck him on the head with an iron rod, causing severe injuries.
Upon noticing the attack, locals immediately alerted the police, and officers from Madikonda and Mills Colony police stations rushed to the scene. They found Dr. Reddy lying in a pool of blood and shifted him to MGM Hospital before transferring him to a private hospital for advanced medical care. The victim was identified as a resident of Hunter Road, Warangal.
Investigation Underway Amid Jurisdiction Dispute
Senior police officials, including Warangal ACP Nandiram Nayak, Kazipet ACP Tirumal, Mills Colony CI Venkataratnam, and Madikonda CI Kishan, visited the crime scene and launched an investigation into the motive behind the attack.
However, a jurisdictional dispute between Madikonda and Mills Colony police stations delayed the investigation, as both authorities struggled to determine which station should take charge of the case.
The police are currently analyzing CCTV footage from the area and questioning witnesses to identify the attackers and their motive.
