
Local residents confront and assault doctor; police take him into custody
Brahmavar: A case has been registered at the Kota police station against a local doctor who has been accused of misbehaving with a 20-year-old woman patient during a consultation at his clinic in Sasthana.
Incident at Upadhyaya Clinic Sparks Community Outrage
The woman, a native of Sasthana currently residing in Mumbai, had returned home due to health concerns and visited the Upadhyaya Clinic for treatment. According to her complaint, Dr. Raghavendra Upadhyaya, the clinic’s proprietor, allegedly behaved inappropriately during the consultation.
Public Confrontation and Police Intervention
After returning home, the woman shared the details of the incident with her family. In reaction, local residents gathered near the clinic later that evening, confronted the doctor, and the situation reportedly turned violent, resulting in the doctor being assaulted by the crowd.
The Kota police arrived on the scene promptly, took the doctor into custody, and filed an FIR based on the woman’s complaint. Dr. Upadhyaya is expected to be produced in court on Friday, while the investigation is currently ongoing.
