
Amroha: A Community Health Officer (CHO), Dr. Balvinder alias Monty, was arrested in Amroha for allegedly harassing a minor schoolgirl, police officials confirmed on Sunday.
According to Dhanaura Circle Officer (CO) Shwetaab Bhaskar, the accused had been harassing the girl for several days. On February 7, Dr. Balvinder, along with some of his colleagues, allegedly misbehaved with the girl and threatened her when she protested at Indira Chowk, near the women’s police station.
The victim’s father also alleged that when he approached the authorities with a complaint, the accused threatened him as well.
Hospital and Police Action
Dr. Yogendra Singh, Medical Superintendent of Gajraula Government Hospital, stated that he had already sent a report about the incident to Dr. Satpal Singh, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Amroha, for further departmental action. However, the CMO has yet to confirm what action will be taken against Dr. Balvinder.
The police have arrested the accused, and he will be sent to jail following legal procedures. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
