
Srinagar, Oct 2 (KNS): To commemorate Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the Central Government Pensioners Welfare Association (CGPWA) Kashmir conducted a cleanliness drive at the lawn of Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SHMS) Hospital, Srinagar.
Nationwide Campaign: The initiative is part of the annual nationwide campaign observed on October 2 to promote cleanliness and hygiene across India.
Participation: The event saw active involvement from CGPWA President Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, the Superintendent of SHMS Hospital, other association members, and hospital staff. However, representatives from some invited teams were absent despite invitations.
Emphasis on Cleanliness: Addressing participants, President Rizvi stressed the moral, religious, and civic importance of cleanliness, noting that keeping surroundings clean is both a duty and a spiritual obligation.
Environmental Responsibility: He highlighted that polluting natural resources such as rivers, roads, and land violates their rights, and preserving nature would yield long-term benefits for ecology and the environment.
Call to Action: Rizvi urged society to actively contribute to environmental conservation, especially in the context of rising environmental degradation.
