Suspension Follows Allegations of Forged Bills and Misuse of Beneficiary Admissions
New Delhi: The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) has suspended 19 hospitals in Delhi-NCR from its empanelment list for alleged involvement in fraudulent activities, according to an official order issued on November 11. Among these, four hospitals are in Delhi and eight are located in Noida.
The order cited instances of health care organizations (HCOs) submitting fake bills, using forged documentation, and repeatedly admitting CGHS beneficiaries along with their family members, resulting in inflated and multiple billing occurrences. Given the seriousness of the findings, the competent authority decided to suspend these hospitals from the scheme with immediate effect.
CGHS beneficiaries currently receiving treatment in these hospitals, however, will continue to receive care at CGHS rates until their treatment is completed. Billing for these ongoing treatments will be submitted to the National Health Authority or relevant department for review and payment approval.
