Police Conduct Extensive Search at Rajasthan’s Largest Government Hospital

Panic gripped Jaipur on Wednesday morning after a bomb threat targeting the prestigious Sawai Man Singh Hospital triggered a massive security operation across the hospital premises. The unidentified caller allegedly demanded Rs 40 crore and warned authorities that the hospital would be blown up if the money was not paid.

The threatening call was reportedly received at the State Police Control Room during the early hours of Wednesday, immediately putting the Jaipur police and emergency response units on high alert.

Bomb Disposal Squad and Police Teams Rush to Hospital

Soon after the threat was received, multiple police teams, bomb disposal squads, dog squads, and security personnel were deployed at the hospital. Authorities launched a detailed search operation that continued for nearly two to three hours.

Security agencies thoroughly checked hospital wards, the OPD complex, parking areas, emergency units, and other sensitive sections of the medical facility. Despite the extensive search, officials confirmed that no suspicious object, explosive material, or unattended item was recovered from the premises.

The hospital was later declared safe by the authorities.

Security Tightened Across Sensitive Areas

During the operation, hospital activities were kept under close monitoring while additional security arrangements were put in place in vulnerable sections of the premises. The incident created anxiety among patients, attendants, and hospital staff at one of Rajasthan’s busiest government hospitals.

Speaking to media outlets, SMS Police Station SHO Rajesh Sharma stated that the call specifically mentioned the presence of a bomb inside the hospital complex, prompting immediate action from law enforcement agencies.

Suspect Detained From Haryana

Police officials confirmed that Monu Gupta, the man accused of making the threatening call, has been taken into custody. A police team has been sent to Haryana to bring the suspect to Jaipur for further interrogation.

Authorities said a formal case is being registered at Vidhayakpuri Police Station.

Investigators are now trying to determine the motive behind the threat and whether the accused acted independently or had links to a larger extortion or cybercrime network.

Hospital Superintendent Confirms Threat

Hospital Superintendent Dr. Mrinal Joshi confirmed that the bomb threat was communicated through the Police Control Room and that security agencies carried out a complete inspection of the hospital premises.

He stated that although the threat caused concern, no explosive material was found and the police investigation is currently underway.

Fear and Tension Among Patients and Staff

The bomb scare caused temporary chaos and fear inside the hospital complex, especially among patients and their families. Many visitors were seen moving out of certain areas as police intensified the security checks.

Authorities have assured the public that the situation is fully under control and that all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure safety within the hospital premises.
