Bihar pediatrician gets extortion threat; Rs. 20 crore demanded

Begusarai: In a shocking case of targeting doctors in Bihar, a pediatrician has received an extortion demand for Rs.20 crores. The extortion demand was send by speed post whereby the extortionist has threatened that if his demands were not met in 8 days he will blew his clinic. The distressed pediatrician along with group of doctors met the SP Yogendra Kumar and discussed the entire incident and sought help from him. The pediatrician said as soon as he read the letter he informed the police and IMA officials about the incident. In the letter the extortionist has introduced himself as Bumbum Kumar from Jagdishpur village of Begusarai. The said extortionist claimed to be part of Thakur gang and gave a time period of 8th days to the pediatrician and warned of blowing up the clinic on the 9th day. He also threatened the pediatrician that if his demands are not met the pediatrician would not be able to move in Begusarai in future. The extortionist further warned of not reporting the matter to police. The police has filed an FIR in the case. The SP Yogendra Kumar said that the police has identified the extortionist and is making efforts to nab him.
