Bengaluru — In a move poised to reinforce Bengaluru’s growing reputation as a global healthcare hub, SPARSH Group of Hospitals inaugurated a state-of-the-art 300-bed quaternary care facility on Hennur Road. The new hospital marks SPARSH’s first major step into dedicated cancer care and high-end super-specialty services.

Karnataka Eyes Global Healthcare Leadership
Speaking at the event, Dr Sharan Prakash Patil, Minister for Medical Education, emphasized Karnataka’s rise as a global medical destination. “India—and particularly Karnataka—is gaining attention for its ethical, high-quality healthcare. Facilities like SPARSH Hennur show how we’re leveraging our technology ecosystem and medical talent to build a world-class health infrastructure,” he said.
He also noted that Karnataka now offers the highest number of medical seats in the country, surpassing Tamil Nadu, and is heavily investing in super-speciality and cancer care infrastructure across the state.
Technology and Equity at the Core of Growth
Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao highlighted the importance of investment in healthcare infrastructure with a focus on quality and equity. “It’s not just about building more hospitals—it’s about delivering advanced, life-saving, patient-centric care,” he said. He lauded the democratization of medical technology, stating, “Robotics, AI, and next-gen equipment are becoming increasingly accessible, even in public hospitals. This is transforming public health delivery across urban and rural Karnataka.”
A Personal Vision Driving Innovation
Dr Sharan Shivaraj Patil, Chairman of SPARSH, shared a deeply personal motivation behind the new hospital. “The challenges I faced during my father’s cancer treatment during the pandemic made me realise how even those in the medical profession struggle with access. SPARSH Hennur was born out of that experience, with a vision to make comprehensive, high-quality cancer care accessible,” he said.
Key Features and Impact
The hospital offers specialised services in oncology, orthopaedics, neurosciences, cardiac sciences, organ transplants, and women and children’s health. It is equipped with robotic-assisted surgical systems, AI-driven diagnostics, 3D printing, and real-time data analytics to enable precision medicine.
- Employment Impact: Expected to create over 2,500 jobs—direct and indirect.
- Academic & Research Role: The hospital will also contribute to medical education and research in the region.
- Expansion Plans: SPARSH aims to scale operations to nine hospitals with 1,700+ beds by end of 2025.
