Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a woman in Bengaluru allegedly contacted a doctor via WhatsApp, requesting medication to kill her 70-year-old mother-in-law due to a domestic dispute. The case came to light when the doctor, appalled by the request, alerted the Sanjay Nagar police.
Doctor Reports Shocking Request
The woman reportedly found Dr. Sunil Kumar on Instagram and messaged him on WhatsApp, asking for tablets that would act as slow poison for her mother-in-law. Stunned by the request, the doctor immediately refused, responding that his duty was to save lives, not harm them.
Shortly after, the woman deleted all her messages, leaving the doctor uncertain whether the request was a prank or a serious threat. Concerned about the implications, Dr. Kumar filed a police complaint at Sanjay Nagar Police Station.
Prank or Real Threat?
“This was really disturbing,” said Dr. Sunil Kumar. “She claimed her mother-in-law was mistreating and torturing her daily, but as doctors, our job is to save lives. People often ignore such cases, but I felt it was necessary to report it to the authorities.”
Police Investigation Underway
Authorities have launched an investigation based on the complaint. A senior police official stated:
- The woman’s phone number is currently switched off
- While it might have been a prank, the police are taking the matter seriously
- Officers are verifying all details and attempting to identify the woman
The case raises concerns about domestic disputes escalating into dangerous situations, and authorities are treating it with the seriousness it deserves.
