Panchkula, Haryana: The Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has achieved significant success today with the arrest of Dr. Ravi Vimal, Deputy CEO of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme in Panchkula. The ACB team caught him red-handed while accepting a ₹5 lakh bribe. The bribe was allegedly demanded in exchange for lifting the suspension of a hospital empanelled under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
A government spokesperson providing details of the case said that a complaint was received by the ACB in Karnal. The complainant, a private hospital owner in Karnal district, reported that Dr. Vimal had demanded a bribe of ₹10 lakh to revoke the suspension of the hospital’s empanelment under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. After negotiations, the amount was settled at ₹5 lakh. To verify the complaint, the ACB laid a trap and arrested Dr. Vimal while accepting the bribe. All necessary evidence has been collected, and an investigation is underway. An FIR has been lodged against Dr. Vimal at the Anti-Corruption Bureau Police Station in Panchkula.
