Slow progress in auditorium and key facilities triggers inspections and strict action warning
Gorakhpur: Ongoing construction work at the AYUSH University in Gorakhpur has come under scrutiny due to significant delays and alleged negligence by the executing agency. Taking serious note of the situation, the Uttar Pradesh government has placed the project under special supervision to ensure timely completion.
Auditorium and Key Infrastructure Lagging Behind Schedule
According to reports, the construction of the university auditorium is running far behind schedule, while several other essential facilities, including the kitchen and related infrastructure, remain incomplete. Despite multiple inspections by senior officials, the pace of work has not improved as expected.
Officials Express Dissatisfaction Over Slow Progress
During a recent inspection, Chief Revenue Officer Himanshu Verma, along with officials from the Public Works Department, reviewed the progress and expressed dissatisfaction over the slow execution. He directed the concerned authorities to complete all pending work within the stipulated timeline.
The Vice-Chancellor Dr K Ramachandra Reddy and PWD official Manish Singh also assessed the progress of the administrative building construction during the visit.
Safety Concerns and Workforce Issues Highlighted
Officials raised concerns over the reduced workforce at the site, which has contributed to delays, particularly in the auditorium construction. They also instructed immediate filling of pits dug in the garden area near residential cottages to maintain safety and hygiene standards.
Repeated Inspections Yet Limited Improvement
Earlier, Anil Kumar Dhingra and District Magistrate Deepak Meena had also inspected the site and directed timely completion of pending works. However, limited progress since then has led to stern warnings and reprimands for those responsible.
Assurances from Project Management
Project Manager Muneshwar has assured officials that manpower will be increased and necessary steps will be taken to accelerate construction and meet deadlines.
Government Push for Timely Completion
With the project now under special supervision, authorities are expected to intensify monitoring and take strict action against delays. The move aims to fast-track the completion of critical infrastructure at the university and prevent further setbacks.
