Vijayawada: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Andhra Pradesh Health, Medical and Family Welfare Department has appointed new principals for three government medical colleges and new superintendents for four teaching hospitals across the state.
New Principals Appointed
- Dr. Devi Madhavi, professor at Rangaraya Government Medical College, has been posted as the new principal of Government Medical College, Vizianagaram.
- Dr. M. Vijaya Sri, professor at Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada, has been appointed principal of Government Medical College, Anantapur.
- Dr. S. Appala Naidu, superintendent of Vizianagaram Government Hospital, has been transferred as principal of Government Medical College, Srikakulam.
New Superintendents
- Dr. Sowmini, professor at Andhra Medical College, has been posted as superintendent of Machilipatnam Teaching Hospital.
- Dr. K. Venkateswarlu, superintendent of Kurnool Government Hospital, will continue in the same post with elevation.
- Dr. J. Kishore, professor at Andhra Medical College, has been appointed superintendent of the Kidney Research Centre, Palasa.
- Dr. Allu Padmaja has been posted as superintendent of the Teaching Hospital, Vizianagaram.
Govt Approval
According to Deccan Chronicle, the reshuffle was approved by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu following a proposal from the state health department. A government order in this regard was issued by Special Chief Secretary M.T. Krishna Babu.
Background
Earlier in April, the Andhra Pradesh Health Department had carried out a similar exercise, appointing new principals for six government medical colleges and new superintendents for five teaching hospitals across the state.
