Satya Kumar Yadav Calls for Compassion and Commitment in Medical Sector
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav has urged doctors and healthcare workers in both public and private sectors to prioritize patient-centred care grounded in compassion and ethics.
In an open letter, Yadav emphasized their vital role in achieving the Swarnandhra Vision 2047 of a “Healthy, Wealthy, and Happy Andhra Pradesh.” He commended the dedication of over one lakh government healthcare professionals providing free medical services to underserved populations, but also acknowledged existing challenges in public healthcare, such as staff shortages, delayed care, defunct equipment, and cleanliness issues.
Private Sector Concerns
Yadav also addressed challenges in private healthcare, including high treatment costs, excessive diagnostic testing, and limited doctor-patient interaction. He appealed to private hospitals to adopt a balanced approach, integrating advanced medical technologies with patient welfare.
Core Values for Healthcare Excellence
“Compassion, commitment, and ethics are pillars that can elevate healthcare standards,” Yadav said, reiterating the nobility of the medical profession. Quoting the saying, ‘Vaidyo Narayano Hari’ (A doctor is akin to God), he underscored the profound responsibility entrusted to healthcare providers.
The Minister concluded with an appeal for renewed dedication to patient welfare and extended New Year greetings to all healthcare professionals.
