Doctor Seriously Injured in Sudhar Village Shooting Incident
Amritsar: In a shocking and alarming development, Dr. Kulwinder Singh, who runs a private hospital in Sudhar village, was seriously injured after being shot by two unidentified assailants inside his hospital premises.
According to the police, the attackers entered the hospital under the pretext of collecting medicines and suddenly opened fire, injuring Dr. Singh in the arm and stomach. He was immediately rushed to another hospital, where his condition is currently reported to be critical.
Extortion Link with Foreign-Based Gangster
Investigations revealed that Dr. Singh had been receiving multiple extortion calls from foreign-based gangster Jeevan Fauji in the days leading up to the attack. Media reports from The Tribune noted that earlier on July 11, bike-borne assailants had also fired at his hospital on Fauji’s orders, after Fauji allegedly threatened the doctor with dire consequences for not paying the demanded extortion money.
Police Investigation Underway
Ramdass Police Station SHO Agyapal Singh confirmed that police teams are meticulously reviewing CCTV footage from the hospital to identify the shooters. Additionally, four of Fauji’s associates had already been arrested in connection with the earlier July firing incident and are currently in judicial custody.
Following the latest attack, police quickly arrived at the scene and began a detailed investigation, seizing the CCTV footage for further leads. Though the exact motive remains unclear, investigators strongly suspect a direct link to the extortion racket run by Jeevan Fauji.
