Healthcare Industry Veteran Takes Charge for FY 2025-26

New Delhi: Ameera Shah, Promoter and Executive Chairperson of Metropolis Healthcare Ltd, has been appointed as the new President of NATHEALTH, the apex body representing India’s healthcare industry, for the FY 2025-26. She succeeds Abhay Soi, Chairman and Managing Director of Max Healthcare Institute Ltd.

The announcement was made during the Annual General Meeting following the 11th NATHEALTH Arogya Bharat Summit 2025 in New Delhi.

New Leadership Team at NATHEALTH

Joining Shah in the leadership team are:

  • Dr. Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise LtdSenior Vice President
  • Himanshu Baid, Managing Director, Poly Medicure LtdVice President
  • Varun Khanna, Group Managing Director, Quality Care India LtdSecretary
  • Rishubh Gupta, Managing Director, India and Neighboring Markets, Roche Diagnostics India Pvt LtdTreasurer

Additionally, Siddhartha Bhattacharya will continue as Secretary General, leading NATHEALTH’s efforts in policy advocacy, strategic partnerships, and industry collaboration.

Vision for Healthcare Transformation

Speaking on her appointment, Ameera Shah emphasized India’s potential to become a global leader in healthcare innovation, medical excellence, and affordable care.

“India is on the cusp of a healthcare transformation. Achieving Viksit Bharat 2047 requires us to address systemic challenges, strengthen quality standards, and accelerate digital health adoption. Public-private collaboration will be key in bridging these gaps and positioning India as a leader in MedTech, diagnostics, and medical value travel.”

She further highlighted the need for policy reforms, technological investments, and innovation-driven healthcare models to make high-quality care accessible to all Indians.

Focus on Infrastructure, Insurance & Tech Integration

Dr. Sangita Reddy, Senior Vice President, NATHEALTH, stressed the importance of enhancing healthcare infrastructure, improving insurance regulations, and integrating technology for better patient outcomes.

As we move towards preventive and personalized care, ensuring affordability and accessibility remains paramount.
