4,663 Candidates Eligible for 2,842 MD-MS Seats in Gujarat
Ahmedabad: The admission committee in Ahmedabad has finally announced the provisional merit list for postgraduate medical and dental courses after a significant delay. This year, the admissions process faced setbacks due to legal issues surrounding the NEET-PG examination, and numerous states, including Gujarat, urged the central committee to expedite the process. Out of 4,803 applicants, 4,663 candidates were deemed eligible, while 140 were found ineligible.
Seat Distribution and Admission Schedule
The 2,842 seats available include 2,803 MD-MS seats and 39 diploma positions across state medical colleges. The provisional merit list comprises:
- General category: 1,885 candidates
- SEBC: 1,135 candidates
- SC: 298 candidates
- ST: 341 candidates
- EWS: 1,004 candidates
- Disability category: 38 candidates
- NRI candidates: 38
- In-service candidates: 19
Key Dates for Admission Rounds
- All-India quota seats: First round ends on Nov 20.
- State quota admissions: Begin Nov 18, conclude on Nov 27.
- Confirmation of admissions: First-round candidates must confirm by Dec 4.
- Second round (State quota): Scheduled for Dec 12-23, with admissions to be confirmed by Dec 28.
- Third round: If vacancies remain, a third round will take place from June 7 to 13.
