Colleagues seek compensation for RML doctor who dies on duty

New Delhi : The Resident Doctors Association (RDA) of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital (RML) have sought compensation for Dr Sahil Mashal, who died during duty. Dr Mashal was the final year MCh resident doctor. In a letter to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on January 9,2023, the doctors informed that Dr Mashal was the only earning and supporting member of his family leaving behind his wife and mother. The RDA pointed out that the doctors toil day and night for the betterment of patients but the sudden demise of Dr Mashal has brought sorrow among the whole medical fraternity. “Granting him compensation is the least we could do to show solidarity to his loved ones and residents. We shall be highly grateful if you could do the needful,” the letter read.
