Doctor & patient connive to claim insurance

Bengaluru : A private insurance company has filed a complaint against a city doctor and 16 patients for forging medical documents and claiming insurance upto the extent of 26 Lakhs. According to the complaint the cheating came into light when the insurance company scanned the medical documents in which it was discovered that the medical documents have forged signatures. The insurance company approached the pathology doctor whose name and signature was present in the pathology reports of the patient and he refused to have signed them. Further the doctor was admitted in the hospital for 15 days for covid treatment and during the same period as per the medical documents three patients were treated by him. The police has filed a complaint and is process of collecting the documents.
