25-Year-Old Doctor Allegedly Dies by Suicide; Investigation Underway
In a tragic incident, a 25-year-old doctor allegedly died by suicide at his rented residence in Rajasthan’s Jalore district on Wednesday afternoon, police officials said. The incident occurred in the Shivaji Nagar area and has left the family and local community in shock.
According to police, the deceased doctor was the only son of an Income Tax Officer currently posted in Jalore. Authorities said the incident came to light around 1:30 PM when the doctor’s mother returned home after visiting the market.
Mother Found House Locked From Inside
As per reports, the woman repeatedly called out to her son after finding the house locked from the inside, but received no response. Concerned by the situation, she informed neighbours and members of the landlord’s family, who reside on the first floor of the building.
The neighbours and family members later broke open the gate and entered the residence, where the young doctor was reportedly found hanging.
Family members immediately rushed him to the general hospital in Jalore, but doctors there declared him dead on arrival.
Doctor Had Recently Completed MBBS
Police officials revealed that the family originally belongs to the New Housing Board Colony area in Pali district but had been residing in Jalore due to the father’s official posting.
Head Constable Mangilal stated that the deceased had recently completed his MBBS degree from a medical college in Udaipur. His younger sister is currently studying in Kota.
Police Begin Investigation
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident. However, no formal complaint has been filed by the family so far, and police have not indicated any suspicion of foul play in the case.
Officials are continuing to gather details surrounding the circumstances that may have led to the incident.
Rising Concerns Over Mental Health Among Medical Professionals
The incident has once again highlighted concerns regarding mental health challenges faced by medical students and young doctors across the country.
Recently, a first-year resident doctor from the Department of Radiology at Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Hospital had also allegedly died by suicide in his hostel room, reportedly due to mental stress and depression, according to police reports.
If you or someone you know is struggling emotionally, reaching out to trusted family members, friends, or professional mental health services can help during difficult times.
