Patients Allege Delays in Services, Lack of Cleanliness and Inadequate Medical Staff at Una Ayurvedic Facility
Patients visiting the District Ayurvedic Hospital Una are reportedly facing severe inconvenience due to an ongoing staff shortage and poor sanitation management, raising serious concerns over the quality of healthcare services at the district-level Ayurvedic facility.
According to residents and patients, repeated complaints regarding administrative inefficiency, delayed services, and unhygienic conditions inside the hospital premises have failed to bring noticeable improvements. Visitors allege that the hospital continues to struggle with inadequate manpower and poor maintenance, affecting the overall patient experience.
Sanitation Concerns Raise Health Risks During Summer
One of the major concerns highlighted by patients and attendants is the poor upkeep of sanitation facilities within the hospital campus. Several garbage bins placed across different sections of the hospital were reportedly found uncovered, creating unhygienic surroundings and foul smell inside the premises.
With summer temperatures continuing to rise, locals fear that the lack of proper cleanliness management could increase the risk of infections and other health-related complications for patients seeking treatment at the hospital.
Patients Face Delays Due to Shortage of Staff
Patients and their family members have also complained about long waiting hours and disruption in routine medical services. According to reports, the shortage of hospital staff has significantly affected the smooth functioning of patient care services.
The situation reportedly worsened as the hospital is currently functioning with only one lab assistant. On Wednesday, laboratory services remained completely unavailable after the lone lab assistant went on leave, leaving several patients without access to essential diagnostic tests.
Many patients who had travelled from distant areas for medical examinations were reportedly forced to return home without receiving treatment or test reports.
Demand for Additional Medical Staff Intensifies
Local residents stated that the popularity of Ayurvedic treatment is steadily increasing, but the district’s primary Ayurvedic healthcare facility continues to operate with inadequate manpower.
Former councilor Navdeep Kashyap urged authorities to appoint at least two lab assistants to ensure uninterrupted laboratory services and improve patient care facilities at the hospital.
Authorities Assure Action
District Ayurvedic Officer Dr. Kiran Sharma acknowledged the shortage of staff and confirmed that the matter has already been brought to the notice of higher authorities.
She assured that necessary measures would soon be taken to improve sanitation management and address the deficiencies affecting the hospital’s functioning.
