Unidentified assailant opens fire inside clinic, police launch probe
Bijnor: In a shocking incident, a 45-year-old paediatrician was shot dead inside a private hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor district on Thursday evening, police officials said.
According to police, the unidentified assailant fled the scene on a motorcycle immediately after carrying out the attack. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Prakash Kumar confirmed that efforts are underway to trace the accused.
The incident reportedly occurred at the Shivalaya Health Care Centre located on Dhampur Road in Nagina. The doctor, who operated the hospital, was present in his cabin when the attack took place.
According to reports, a young man arrived at the clinic on a motorcycle around 7 PM. He allegedly entered the doctor’s cabin directly and fired a shot at his chest before fleeing the scene.
The victim, originally from Ghaziabad and the son of Brahmapal, had been running the Shivalaya Health Care Centre for the past four years. He was residing on the first floor of the same building where the hospital operates.
Following the shooting, the injured doctor was rushed to the Community Health Centre, where doctors declared him brought dead, police said.
Police officials stated that the body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, investigators are examining CCTV footage from nearby locations to identify the accused.
Authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the incident, and efforts are ongoing to determine the motive behind the killing and to trace the assailant.
