Security Staff Foil Attempt After CCTV Review and Suspicious Behaviour
In a startling incident at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital, a woman allegedly posed as a neurosurgeon inside the hospital premises before being caught and arrested by security personnel. The incident occurred at the hospital’s super-speciality block, where she reportedly moved around claiming to be a doctor.
According to reports, the woman entered the hospital wearing a stethoscope and behaved as though she was part of the medical team. She attempted to access different areas without raising immediate suspicion, presenting herself as a senior neurosurgeon.
Initial information suggests that she is a native of Perunna and claimed to be residing in Peroorkada. However, authorities have not been able to confirm her exact identity, as she allegedly used multiple aliases during questioning.
Security staff grew suspicious of her conduct and alerted hospital authorities. A review of CCTV footage revealed that she had been roaming around various sections of the hospital, including the canteen, without any official identification or authorisation.
After being confronted, the woman briefly went missing within the campus. Later, female security personnel apprehended her when she allegedly attempted to flee by sneaking into an autorickshaw in front of the multi-speciality block while in disguise, according to a report by Kerala Kaumudi.
The Medical College Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. The woman is currently under interrogation, and police are verifying her claims, including her statement that her husband works at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, which has not yet been substantiated.
Authorities are continuing their inquiry to determine the motive behind her impersonation and presence at the hospital. Officials have stated that further details will emerge after thorough questioning and background verification.
